Measure G Public Information

Measure G is being submitted to the voters by the unanimous vote of the Santa Barbara City Council to update the City’s existing Utility User’s Tax (UUT) on telecommunications and video services.  If approved by voters, Measure G will reduce the tax rate from 6% to 5.75% for all city residents who use “land line” telephone service, cell phones, Cable TV, and similar video services.  Internet access service charges are specifically excluded from the tax.  The Santa Barbara Golf Club (“Muni”) opened for play with its first tournament on Jan. 12, 1958. To celebrate the 50th, a number of golf specials have been planned from June 1-August 31. A Double Shotgun event on Saturday, Sept. 13 will honor Richard Chavez, golf pro, who is retiring after 28 years and to celebrate Muni’s 50th.
